Welcome to my web page. This website is primarily about my squirrel dogs, and documenting their progress from pup to full grown tree dog. These dogs are 100% Buckley Bred Mountain Feist and come from Greytail Kennels in Leburn, Kentucky. Being raised in rural West Tennessee, I've hunted squirrels most of my life, but only in recent years using dogs. My father (A. H. Littlejohn) raised and hunted "Treeing Feist" from the late 1920's, until the late 1940's before finalling losing his particular bloodline stock. As a child, I looked forward to listning to "Papa's Hunting Stories". With this background, I decided I wanted to squirrel hunt with Feist dogs. After months of research into the different types of Feist, I finally decided that what I liked was "Mountain Feist" and there's no better source than Jack Buckley's Mountain Feist, aka... "Greytail Kennels". Jack and his family have been hunting and breeding this particular line of Feist for the past 100 years. Not only did I find the type of dog I wanted, I also made a friend in the deal. For a country boy, it doesn't get much better than that. I'm not a dog breeder by any means. I leave that to people like Jack Buckley, who know what they're doing. I subscribe to the old saying "If you want a cold drink of water, go to the head of the stream." So, come back and visit with me as we build this website, dog by dog, hunt by hunt, story by story. I think "Papa" would be pleased.
